My research interests lie in three main areas. First of all, I am interested in employee involvement and ways of better diagnosing employee empowerment. This is a preliminary step often bypassed by those attempting to enhance employee commitment. My second research interest is evaluating the potential and competencies of individuals at work. More specifically, I am interested in evaluation tools and methods for understanding and predicting behaviour in the workplace, in a nuanced and useful manner. Lastly, I am interested in balancing performance and psychological well-being at work and am attempting to identify determinants or interventions likely to have a positive impact on these two outcomes.

I strongly believe that knowledge in my research and teaching fields can be best advanced by establishing ongoing dialogue between researchers and stakeholders in organizations, so as to pool their respective expertise.

Professeur honoraire

Globalization is bringing many changes to the positions and skills required of institutions and individuals. In this context of constant change, workplace training is becoming increasingly important. But it must be recognized that training programs do not always produce concrete changes in workplace behaviour. My research program revolves around this issue of transfer of learning. Starting from theories and models concerning changes in behaviour, it identifies the parameters that influence and enhance transfer of learning. The research mainly takes place in the actual workplace and involves descriptive or causal longitudinal data collection. The research methodologies are sometimes experimental, sometimes descriptive and invariably call for the use of sophisticated statistical analysis techniques and methods.
